Led by Richard Buckley, the excavation uncovered not only the friary of Grey Friars but also the skeleton remains of King Richard III officially announced on 4th February 2013. Steve Stell and Paul Finnegan of JoinPoint were credited for their masterly control of the mechanical digger which helped find the King.
